When I first spoke to Sasha, I knew that this was going to be a very special wedding and that I could not wait to be a part of it.
Sasha and her groom to be, Alex, were planning a September wedding. They wanted a chilled out rustic vibe to suit their chosen venue (Lower Damgate Farm) and were keen for things to have a natural look and to be as locally sourced as possible.
Trying to stick to a budget, Sasha and Alex's wedding was a masterclass on how to create the wedding you want, whilst still being affordable. They did a lot of things themslves like drying their own confetti (in the bath for nearly a year and a half!) and doing their own cake.
They ordered personal flowers, such as the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid posies and buttonholes but then also ordered a few curated buckets of flowers so that they could decorate the venue themselves.
They wanted their wedding to look seasonal, so there was no colour scheme as such, but we went with a lot of Autumnal colours such as burnt orange, deep reds, dark greens and light pinks and white to add a contrast.
Creating the bridal bouquet was an absolute dream. Sasha's request for bright, seasonal colours was like music to my ears! We decided the bouquet should have a relaxed feel with wild tendrils and a flowing ribbon. I focused on using burnt oranges, deep reds and pale pinks with dark green foliage to tie in with the bridesmaid outfits. Adding in flowers to give scent is also important to me and one of the reasons why I love British flowers so much. I included some of our gorgeous homegrown Chandos Beauty roses, which have the most delicous scent.
The wedding of Sasha and Alex was everything a wedding should be - relaxed, fun and so personal to them. If we ever re-take our vows, I will definitely be coming back to this wedding for inspiration!
