Real Wedding: A spring wedding in Stratford

Back in May of 2023, I accomplished a milestone with my business - my first wedding! And it wasn't just any wedding, but that of my best and longest friend. Being nearly the end of 2023, I'm feeling in a retrospective mood and I've been looking back at all I've accomplished with Gouldberry over this year, which got me thinking about that wedding, so I thought it's about time that I shared about it!

Set in Stratford Upon Avon, a spot close to home, Lisa and Dave's wedding was my ideal vibe - micro, just close family and friends, laid back and relaxed but incredibly special. We began the day with the ceremony at The Henley Room, situated in the centre of Stratford, next to Shakespeare's birth place. With just a few close family and friends watching, the setting was beautiful and the cherry on the cake for me was being able to make the flowers carried down the aisle by my best friend.

After the ceremony, we had a relaxed few photogrpahs outside the venue whilst we all grabbed a coffee and a snack from the local cafe's. We then took a relaxed walk down to the river and sat outside a small pub, in the gorgeous May sunshine, to enjoy a drink. There was time to chat, hug, congratulate and take more photos.

Later in the afternoon, we headed over for our river cruise and floated through Stratford, drinking champagne. We finished the day at another cosy restaurant in the heart of the town, for a delicious meal and of course, plenty more drinks!

And as for the flowers, I went for a mix of Ranunculus, Tulips, Stocks, Solomon's Seal Choisya and delicate grasses. The colour theme was pink and white with a touch of cream and apricot. The shape of the bouquet was rounded and neat, which made it easy to carry around throught the day.

I have been so lucky to go on to do more weddings over 2023 since this first one and I can not WAIT to get stuck into more in 2024.
